Our Graduate Profile
Proposed descriptors — final profile to come
- 1
Curious learners
Children who ask questions, wonder aloud, and keep seeking to understand how the world works.
How it could develop
Curiosity could grow through daily inquiry, read-alouds that spark questions, science investigations, and projects that begin with a student's own wondering.
- 2
Thoughtful problem-solvers
Children who persist through challenges, try more than one approach, and reflect on what they learn.
How it could develop
Problem-solving could develop through strong mathematics foundations, hands-on projects, and proposed MicroSociety roles where students tackle real classroom-community challenges.
- 3
Confident communicators
Children who read, write, speak, and listen with clarity — in English and with growing Spanish.
How it could develop
Communication could strengthen through structured literacy, daily Spanish, presenting work to real audiences, and collaborating with classmates.
- 4
Responsible community members
Children who show kindness, keep commitments, and contribute to the people around them.
How it could develop
Responsibility could take root through classroom jobs, student leadership, family partnership, and community experiences that show children their contributions matter.
- 5
Globally aware citizens
Children who appreciate their own heritage, respect others, and see themselves as part of a wider world.
How it could develop
Global awareness could develop through Spanish language and culture, social studies, diverse literature, and connections to Atlanta's many communities.
Growing across nine grades
We plan to open with kindergarten through third grade and add one grade each year until we serve kindergarten through eighth grade. That means the graduate profile can grow with our students — from first friendships and first books in kindergarten to leadership and independent projects in middle school.
