Our Story
Why propose a new school
Strong foundations, close relationships, and a wider world.
Families across Metro Atlanta want schools that hold high expectations and also know their children well. They want rigorous reading and math, and they want their children to be curious, kind, and confident. We are proposing The Village School to bring those goals together under one roof.
Our planned model pairs strong academic foundations with daily Spanish, inquiry and project-based learning, and a proposed MicroSociety approach that gives students real roles in a classroom-built community. Each piece is designed to help children apply what they learn and see why it matters.
Rooted in Community. Ready for the World.
The Blazers
The meaning of our name
“It takes a village” is more than a saying to us.
A village is a place where everyone has a role. In our village, students bring their questions and energy, families bring their knowledge and hopes, educators bring expertise and care, and community members bring experience, opportunity, and support.
Our emblem reflects that idea: a torch rising from deep roots inside a “V” — learning that is grounded in community and lights the way forward. Our students will be the Blazers, carrying that light into the world.
Planned grade expansion
Growing one grade at a time
We plan to open with kindergarten through third grade, then add one grade level each year as our founding students move up — until The Village serves kindergarten through eighth grade.
